Okay, now onto the workshops..
First up, is a watercolor workshop on August 19th.
In this fun workshop you will learn a loose and spontaneous watercolor technique .
Flowers, still life, figures, shells, underwater marine life could all be subjects suited to this technique. You will work from photographs.
Rae will show you how she divides her backgrounds and plays with shapes and geometry enveloping and complimenting the subject to achieve a balanced realistic/abstraction result.
It's a lot of fun, and the student will learn about design as well as technique.

Workshop 2..August 21st .. please see general details on times etc as for the above workshop.
Cost $65 for the day now including materials.
This is a Pastel Workshop, using pastels in a less formal way, with ribbons of color as a backdrop, into and over which, the subject is developed.
The substrate will be velour paper (purchased at Asels Art Supplies, a captivating surface for the pastelist.
The subject for this one could be anything the student desires, still life, figurative, cityscape, trees, even landscape to name a few.
Don't be shy with this one, this is a wonderfully freeing technique for those pastel artists stuck in a rut.
More workshops for the next few months will follow.
I would love to see you soon,
Happy painting everyone
Rae
