Austin
Pastel Society

The Austin Pastel Society is a Non-Profit Organization founded in 1998 by a group of Austin artists who were active in the soft pastel medium.

Our mission is to provide opportunities to pastelists to exhibit; to educate the public, gallery owners, and collectors about the merits and proper care of paintings in pastel; to encourage students of all ages in the medium; and to provide opportunities for artists by sponsoring workshops and demonstrations.

Artists, from beginners to professionals, benefit from many opportunities provided by APS to learn about materials and techniques and to grow in their abilities by observing demonstrations at monthly meetings, participating in hands-on workshops led by nationally recognized instructors and by attending paint-outs and other events.

Members are invited to participate in both juried and open exhibitions of their work at locations throughout the area.

The Austin Pastel Society is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS) and VU/Austin.

The Austin Pastel Society currently has approximately 100 members.

Dues are $30 per year, payable in May.
